Daniel Deeney

Daniel J. Deeney, Partner, was a founder of New Venture Partners and a member of the core team since 2000. Dan originally focused on the financial management of the investment funds and worked with portfolio companies on special projects. In his current role, he evaluates new investment opportunities from corporate research labs and business units of corporate technology companies.
Before joining the Lucent New Ventures Group, Dan managed the corporate finance group at Venator Group, a Fortune 500 consumer goods company, where he worked on acquisitions and divestitures. Prior to Venator, he managed the financial analysis and planning group at Mobilemedia Communications, a wireless network operator spun-out from AT&T/SBC, where he played a key financial role in the firm’s IPO. He also worked as an accountant for Bank of America focused on commercial lending and credit analysis.
Dan sits on the Board of Directors for Texert Inc., Blinq Networks, Inc., VPI Systems, Inc., and Airclic, Inc. He has over fifteen years of financial and investment management experience in venture capital, telecommunications and consumer goods industries.
He holds a BS in Finance from San Diego State University; an MBA from Pepperdine University; a MS in Management of Technology from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and is a Certified Public Accountant
