New Ventures Partners gives our corporate partners access to a network of international business intelligence and local expertise.

In addition to its US headquarters, New Ventures Partners maintains a European office, conveniently located in Adastral Park, British Telecom's R&D center.

Our UK team began life inside BT as Brightstar, the corporate incubator originally responsible for creating, funding and spinning out early stage technology-based companies based on BT's extensive patent portfolio of 14,000 patents and some 1,600 unique inventions. Brightstar's creators, now New Ventures Partners' UK-based leadership team, shared a common research and business heritage with New Ventures Partners' founding partners from the start. Recognizing the potential for creating a new global corporate venturing team, we seized the opportunity to expand our partnership, global reach and functional and technical expertise.

In March 2003, New Ventures Partners simultaneously incorporated, funded and spun out four companies from BT. BT remains a Limited Partner in a dedicated fund and our UK team remains closely associated with BT, through our exclusive right to continue to spin-out companies out from its R&D, professional and computing services base.

An international presence also enables New Ventures Partners to closely manage its exclusive, global partnership with Philips, one of the world's largest technology companies and a rich source of innovative solutions that have shaped the modern world and improved people's lives.

In keeping with its progressive history and openness to new ideas, Philips has formed an exclusive partnership with New Ventures Partners to realize value from innovations that are developed by Philips' Research. New Ventures Partners has been granted the right of first refusal to incubate and spin-off ventures generated by Philips' central R&D labs, which are located in the Netherlands, England, Germany, China and the United States. In March 2005, the two parties announced their new venture based on Philips electrowetting technology offering highly reflective, full-color displays for mobile applications such as PDAs, mobile phones and video cameras.
